North West Born, Katlehong based contemporary visual artist, healer, printmaker & photographer Tumisang Khalipha would paint his childhood bedroom and dining room red, blue and every hue imaginable, developing his voice as an artist. Stemming from a background where dreams are deemed impractical by the supporting validity of his father, he turned adversity into a work of art and established a name for himself in the arts community.
The contemporary artist engages a visual exploration of figurative art, painting them in mixed mediums such as acrylic, charcoal, water, colour, pencil and coffee on mostly paper & canvas of different dimensions. Tumi’s nostalgic nuance with a touch of texture is most notable in his Bontle Modisele Mural in her Dance Studio at the Hallmark House Hotel and the Cover Art for Priddy Ugly’s critically acclaimed sophomore album, SOIL.
